Dr Elliot R Goodman:
Dr. Elliot R. Goodman was born in England
and received his undergraduate and medical school education at
Cambridge University. He moved to the USA in 1990 and trained in
general surgery at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY from 1990
to 1996. He spent two years as a research fellow at Columbia
University working with Mark Hardy, MD, in the field of cellular
transplantation and immunology. During his fellowship, he presented
his findings at various national and international meetings and
published his work in many peer-reviewed journals.
Dr.
Goodman joined the medical staff of Beth Israel Medical Center in
New York City in early 2004. Before this, he was Chief of Bariatric
Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. He is
currently on the surgical faculty of the Albert Einstein College of
Medicine. From 1997 to 1999, he was on the faculty of the New Jersey
Medical School and was the co-director of the University Institute
for the Surgery of Morbid Obesity in Newark, NJ. Dr Goodman is an
active member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery. He
lectures throughout the country on the topic of obesity surgery and
trains surgeons in techniques of bariatric surgery from all over the
USA.
